FOUNDER’S BIO

SHOLA SAFO-DUODU (Ph.D.)

Shola Safo-Duodu is an expert in strategic communications, marketing management, brand management, and events management. She has a proven track record in leadership and people management and has established credibility as an experienced and versatile management professional in her career of more than 25 years in the banking (Barclays Bank) and manufacturing (Unilever) industries.

Shola is also a leadership development professional having led the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) in Ghana for more than six years leading and training young leaders from nine countries in the West African sub-region.

Shola holds a BA degree from the University of Ghana, an MA from Pembroke College in Cambridge University and a Doctorate degree in Management from the Swiss Management Centre University. She is a Chartered Marketer by profession, a trained Performance Development Facilitator and an Intercultural Fluency Facilitator.

Shola is currently the Country Lead Implementer for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) which is a State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) program.

ESTHER RUBY ARTHUR

Esther Ruby Arthur is an epitome of perseverance, versatility and loyalty. She worked in the same Banking institution for over 40 years in various roles.  Initially in administrative roles and until her exit the Acting Head of the HR Department of the institution.

Her versatility became evident when a restructuring in her institution shifted her into monitoring roles, which she discharged with distinction. Esther was reposted to the HR Department as an HR Generalist, thus, worked in almost all the functional areas of HR i.e. HR Operations, Training and Development, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management and Employee Relations. She received extensive training in the HR roles mentioned in Ghana and various other countries including Singapore, Malaysia and Crown Agents, U.K.

 Esther is a graduate from the University of Ghana, Legon. She holds a B.A in Management and Sociology and an MBA in Human Resources Management from the Paris Graduate School of Management, France.  She is also a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Ghana.

WHAT WE DO

Project Implementation

SDC assists organizations to envision projects and ensure effective actions to achieve deliverables for all stakeholders.  

Fund raising and Resource Mobilization

SDC supports organizations and projects with raising financial resources through identified partners and works with local communities to support goals and objectives of projects. 

Mentorship

SDC works with other organizations to provide mentorship opportunities for its clients and project beneficiaries in all areas of life. 

Exchange Opportunities

We provide exchange opportunities for project beneficiaries with identified partners. 

Internship

Internship opportunities for selected project beneficiaries are undertaken where there is availability.  

Research

SDC is available to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research for clients and stakeholders.

Data Collection

SDC is equipped to gather and analyze data for its clients. 

Outreach Campaigns and Sensitization

Clients who need to organize community campaigns and sensitization around any issues can be supported by SDC. 

Community Engagement and Mobilization

SDC has the wherewithal to engage and mobilize communities around issues identified by clients.  

Stakeholder Engagement

Stakeholder engagement through effective communication to understand and implement successful projects is central to the activities undertaken by SDC.  

Awareness Creation

SDC employs different communication and technical tools to ensure awareness about issues are heightened and solutions embedded. 

ACADEMY FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS (AWE) 

The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is a US State Department Funded programme for women entrepreneurs. The initiative is designed to empower women entrepreneurs in Ghana to fulfil their economic potential and in doing so create conditions for increased stability, security and prosperity for all.  

The project uses DreamBuilder, an online training program on women’s entrepreneurship which teaches women to create their own business plans, understand how to raise capital, and connect with networks of successful business owners.
